This is Samsung first rough smartphone that We knew already launch in Q1, 2012. As We resound the name of this “Rough-by” Smart, what a smart name to combine rough and one of most tough sports in the world, rugby sports. And let Us review together if this smartphones would be same tough as His name is.
For sure on rough & tough standard, this Samsung Rugby Smart would dare to say that for Himself because of MIL-STD-810F certified (salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistant), and also IP67 certified (dust and water proof (up to 1m for 30 mins)). Quite strong for You?
Dimensions & Weight. 122.4 x 65.9 x 12.2 mm ; Weight. 119 gr.
Samsung Rugby Smart #01 comment. This rough smartphones is quite flexible and comfortable to grip and handle and in fact, Samsung Rugby Smart has smaller size & lighter weight than Panasonic Eluga as one of closest contender toward Samsung Rugby Smart.
Screen Resolution & Capability. Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors ; 480 x 800 pixels, 3.7 inches (~252 ppi pixel density) ; Accelerometer, proximity, compass.
Samsung Rugby Smart #02 comment. That what We like about from this rough smartphones is AMOLED screen. Of course it's better than Panasonic Eluga though Eluga has better resolution pixels on 540 x 960 pixels.
Camera & Video capability. 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, 720p HD video recording, 2nd camera on 1,3MP.
Samsung Rugby Smart #03 comment. While Eluga brings any quite deep 8MP on Their primary camera, Samsung Rugby Smart only has 5MP primary but They have 2nd camera on 1,3MP and video resolution already on 720p.
Processor, OS & UI. Android OS, v2.3.6, Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset ; Single-core 1.4 GHz Scorpion ; Adreno 205 GPU.
Samsung Rugby Smart #04 comment. Just maybe not on dual core like Panasonic Eluga has but Samsung Rugby Smart got higher value on single processor. For sure, on standard usage which doesn't require any multitask needs, We think that Samsung Rugby Smart still has worth value on extreme condition.
Rest of Tech Spec. 850, 900, 1800, 1900 ; HSDPA & HSUPA 850 / 1900 ; 3,5mm audio jack ; 4 GB storage, 512 MB RAM ; microSD, up to 32 GB ; Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Wi-Fi hotspot ; bluetooth A2DP ; micro USB v2.0 ; HTML, Adobe Flash, A-GPS ; Java MIDP ; Li-Ion 1650 mAh.
Samsung Rugby Smart #05 comment. While We see all standard tech spec already given by Samsung Rugby Smart, We couldn't give any great point also because They just “standard” not more in this year 2012. The positive point for all this rest of tech spec lies on Their great battery capacity on 1650 mAh which is very crucial on outdoor usage even on extreme condition.
We are satisfied with what We look on this smartphones. Not very “above the line” but that's good for Us because what We look actually if this Samsung Rugby Smart gonna be tough? And the screen gonna be clear enough to see on outdoor extreme condition? And the answer of all question are, Yes, They are. So, congratulation dear Samsung Inc. You do a great job!
