What We compare between MacBook Air vs Samsung Series 9 this type is based on same likely hardware spec as We could see together in Amazon. Samsung Series 9 NP900X1A-A01US 11.6-Inch Laptop (Black) has pretty same price on $999 based on Amazon Website & because of that We put this on same fight one to one between $999 MacBook Air & not the others spec. But seeing from Our market perspective, Samsung seems too bold to put Samsung Series 9 price tag to fight with Apple MacBook Air. ASUS is better on this, though ASUS couldn't lower it the price, ASUS brings same spec & give better features like bigger SSD storage space.
 
We decide really hard & because We see laptop processor is crucial & We could see that MacBook Air brings core i5 but Samsung series 9 only could equip core i3, & also because of display camera though Samsung Series 9 brings HDMI connection, microSD & 4G WiMAX, We still have to give MacBook Air a better score.
 
About next 2 (two) category in OS & battery lifetime, We simply say that whether in MacOS X Lion or Windows 7 Pro 64bit occupy different market value. Both of OS are really great in Their own market whether in Windows loyal user or Apple loyal fan. That things also happen in Their claim statement that Their own laptop either on MacBook Air or Samsung Series 9 could be on long time usage period. We just say that long time usage period always been relatively different for some of laptop user. How can We compare usage period between general user vs CAD/CAM engineer or graphics designer user? Simply can't do on different basis. MacBook Air vs Samsung Series 9 in both of this area, seems roughly We have to give same score also.
 
One next point We gonna share though maybe is quite hard to chew but We gotta do it honestly is, We knew Samsung Inc is really great company & seems Samsung now like new IT Company rising star with Their new great product like Samsung Galaxy series smartphone & hottest Samsung Galaxy Tab. But We talk about notebook business here & for Us if the product still not gonna survive after 5 (five) years normal usage, We don't recommend it. It's too fast actually to say if Samsung Series 9 would be great product although We really hope so. But the case is different if We discuss about Apple & ASUS or other major notebook vendor like Dell, HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Acer & so on. Our input would be like Our cautious point, need to think it but hope not let You down to choose it. Simply, You take decision for Your own risk.
