For starter, We admit that when We hear this product, Our reaction is just squinted Our eye, goes with saying, ah, another new comer in 7” tablet PC which We already knew & review some of Them like Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ ; Acer Iconia 7” ; Dell Streak 7” ; Creative ZiiO 7” ; Archos 7” & dozens from China made 7” tablet PC. Could it beat also Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet?
After We see, read carefully & saw the YouTube movie about Huawei MediaPad, We only could say, wow... this Huawei MediaPad already capture Our full attention and We don't hesitate to give this Huawei MediaPad as best fair price 7” tablet PC for now. And even We could grant Huawei MediaPad as new King of 7” tablet PC which defeat Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ for some important hardware tech spec comparison fact. 1. We really like the dimension & weight of this Huawei MediaPad, lighter than Kindle Fire or Nook Table however still couldn't beat Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ from lightest 7” tablet PC leader.
2. Huawei MediaPad has strong dual processor on speed 1,2GHZ which is only Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ would be worthy contender.
3. Huawei MediaPad is the champion for screen resolution compares in all 7” tablet PC screen resolution in the tablet PC marketplace. His 800 x 1280 pixels, 7.0 inches (~216 ppi pixel density) couldn't even been matched it out by Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+.
4. Though Huawei MediaPad only has 8GB internal memory which is same with Kindle Fire does, but We really glad that Huawei Inc is kind enough to give optional external storage in micro SDCard up to 32GB. However on this criteria, still Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ is the best.
5. Huawei MediaPad has capability to play like USB flash disk with Their USB OTG function.
6. Huawei MediaPad has highest primary camera resolution in 5MP & 1,3MP on secondary which is only Acer Iconia 7” could come with same camera resolution spec.
7. More complete tech spec like HTML5, Adobe Flash, Android Honeycomb 3.2 OS, A-GPS, compass, Java MIDP, HDMI Port & great battery capacity 4100mAh which Huawei MediaPad already been claimed as 6 hours operational usage capability. Pretty impressive.
8. Huawei MediaPad comes in really great fair price for this such a high tech spec 7” tablet PC. Although We see USD 455-460 Huawei MediaPad compares with USD 599 Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ or even in same price with Acer Iconia 7” A101, both of Them couldn't beat great fair price of Huawei MediaPad.
Although Huawei MediaPad has many great strength but They also have several weakness We need to look at also :
1. Even Huawei MediaPad has great screen resolution compares with Their 7” tablet PC, They only come in 256K colors and definitely couldn't beat Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ or Acer Iconia A101.
2. We seem a little bit worried on Their next support especially on Their fast response to equip Huawei MediaPad on upgrading in higher Android OS in future. Actually on this area, only Samsung Inc, Sony Ericsson & Motorola Inc that We count the best to deliver Android OS upgrade stuff. The next thing is even We knew Huawei is great name based on Their USB modem ; WiFi router and mobile tech stuff product. We are dealing with sort of high tech mobile equipment which is They need a certain time to prove if They really have robust mobile stuff product or not, compare with Apple ; Samsung ; Motorola ; Acer ; ASUS and other major IT mobile tech vendor. However We have a good faith in this Huawei MediaPad and hopefully They always really pay attention to Their loyal & candidate customer, also to launch Their IT product cautiously & come with highest quality.
